It would be really appreciated if anyone could fit in a little prayer for Casey tonight. She’s had a rough day and now she’s on a bus all night coming to see me. She is stuck by the window next to some huge guy apparently, so prayers for comfort and sleep and a safe trip would really be appreciated.

thank You for Casey, who is far away.
Thanks for my bed, where I lay down to sleep
and thank You for everything that I get to keep.
Thank You for taking the time for me
I know that You’re busy and have others to see
I know You’re needed much more far away
Yet in Your love You decided that right here you will stay
So thank You God, for all the gifts you’ve provided
they could have been anyone’s, but they’re mine, You decided.
Your mercy and graces have shown me Your love
and the glory and majesty of Your home up above
I know that You didn’t have to give us a thing
but You decided instead to deliver us a King.
You decided that each of us deserved a good home
So You stepped down from Your eternal throne
You stepped down from above and You stripped down for us
and for all of our Sins You walked to the cross
You walked there and died so that we may live
We, who take, and have nothing to give.
When I open up with gratitude and love
I can see all the traces You’ve left from above.
So thank You God, for all that I have
You know, this life here, it isn’t so bad.
O my God,
I am heartily sorry for
having offended Thee,
and I detest all my sins,
because I dread the loss of heaven,
and the pains of hell;
but most of all because
they offend Thee, my God,
Who are all good and
deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve,
with the help of Thy grace,
to confess my sins,
to do penance,
and to amend my life.

For Thomas, to look at something as created is not just to see what is before your eyes. It is to see what it is made to become.”
Chris: So God wants to give each one of us himself, his whole self, Father and Sonand Holy Spirit. God is pure love, pure generosity, and the aim of love is always intimacy, oneness with the beloved. Doesn’t the lover always want to get closer and closer, to get inside the beloved’s soul? You want to give your whole self to the one you love. That’s why God gave us the Holy Spirit. And that’s why it’s better to have the Holy Spirit than to have Jesus only physically present, as the first disciples did.

Sal: You can really see that big of a difference in the way you read the Bible?
Chris: Yes. It reads you now. It becomes like a sword: not dead on the ground, but alive because Somebody’s hand is using it.

Sal: Just “those who ask”? That’s all it says?
Chris: That’s all.
Sal: It’s just too good to be true.
Please God lead me to where I want to be
‘Cause God I know it’ll be right for me
It’s getting hard for me to see
When I’m spending so much time in my mind
And there is something I can’t find
I know that something’s missing
And I know what it is
But, God, I need your help to lead me there
