When asked to “repent” by the judges, Youcef stated, “Repent means to return. What should I return to? To the blasphemy that I had before my faith in Christ?” The judges replied , “To the religion of your ancestors, Islam.” To which he replied, “I cannot.”

I thought of this design for a shirt or something, first pic would be the front, the second would be on the back. It’s not my final idea, but I haven’t used Photoshop for a long time so I’m a little rusty. Suggestions? Anyone good at Photoshop and want to get a good design for the front?

Doctor: Who's she?
Kazran: Nobody important.
Doctor: Nobody important? Blimey, that's amazing. You know in nine hundred years of time and space I've never met anybody who wasn't important before.

Is happiness an end or a means?
Socrates: Is happiness an end or a means? Pablo: Why it is an end, of course. Socrates: Why do you say it is an end? Pablo: It is ultimately what everyone desires. Socrates: And money. Would you say money is an end or a means to an end? Pablo: Why a means, of course. Socrates: But doesn’t everyone desire money, like they desire happiness? Pablo: Yes, Socrates, but people desire money for the...

I was just kind of shocked and upset at how many people had selfish and mean things to say. If you want an apology, I’ll give you one. I’m no so much mad, and not so much mad at you, as annoyed and upset at the idea that some people don’t care. Maybe I over-reacted at you specifically. So, from the bottom(ish) of my heart, please I hope you will accept this apology. And, thank...

Shadow Thoughts.
You know when you’re lying awake in bed with (too many) thoughts running around keeping you awake and some things feel like they’re really important (necessary even), and certain things will seem like a really good idea. You’ll want to rush up and send a message to someone, or post something online, or call someone and you feel like it’s something you really have to do. But then, upon...
NEVER! It’s ink printed on paper, bound between two covers or nothing at all!! …(*psst*Umm, what’s the standard offer he makes for e-books these days?)
Do you think the devil would publish my book?
Well, that’s marvelous news! Unfortunately that means I can’t tell you what its about now. Sorry :(
Also, don’t those dealings with the devil usually end poorly?

So after years of thinking about writing stories, I actually started to write one! I’ve got like 150 words down. How many are in a book usually? Whatever I’m sure I’m almost there. Now all I have to do is continue to write words, preferably often, and hope that the words that come out are entertaining, inspiring, dramatic and emotional. Failing that, ‘coherent’ will...

Dear Tumblr,
I’m dying from the flu. I’ll be dead very soon, I’m sure. Therefore, let this post serve as my last will and testament:
-I leave my blog to rot, it’s rubbish anyway.
-I leave my Harry Potter blog to Kyra.
-My chocolate factory goes to Charlie, and Toon Town goes to the toons.
Goodbye cruel cyberworld.
Love,
Casey

Why does it say one thing in the Old Testament and something (seemingly) contradictory at another point? Why did God change His mind later when he said, “turn the other cheek” when before he said, “an eye for an eye”?
The short answer to that question is that God doesn’t change his mind. If God changed that would imply that at one point he was lesser (or greater) and became...

“He leaves the creature to stand up on its own legs—to carry out from the will alone duties which have lost all relish. It is during such trough periods, much more than during the peak periods, that it is growing into the sort of creature He wants it to be… He wants them to learn to walk and must therefore take away His hand; and if only the will to walk is really there He is...

Just some thoughts while reading.
“My inflated conceit shunned the Bible’s restraint, and my gaze never penetrated to its inwardness. Yet the Bible was composed in such a way that as beginners mature, its meaning grows with them. I disdained to be a little beginner. Puffed up with pride, I considered myself a mature adult.”

Quiddity.
Lewis gave me, and continues to give me, an intense sense of the astonishing “realness? of things. He had the ability to see and feel what most of us see and do not see. He had what Alan Jacobs called “omnivorous attentiveness.” I love that phrase. What this has done for me is hard to communicate[…] To wake up in the morning and to be aware of the firmness of the mattress, the warmth...

Oh and P.S., the song in the credits, “99 Problems” by Hugo was pretty great. I like that version better than Jay-Z’s version, and it felt like it fit the movie for some reason — which I guess it should if you’re playing it during the credits of your movie.
