30 Day Video Game Challenge - Day 12
randomchigirl:
Day 12 - A game everyone should play.
I think The Longest Journey and its sequel Dreamfall. They’re just such great games with a wonderful, unique, intelligent story, great puzzles and characters, and it’s just such a cool world. I love it. And it’s the sort of game that anyone can play, regardless of whether or not they’re a “gamer”, and which I genuinely think almost everyone...

It’s strange how I can spend days trying to write up a 1500 word essay for school, and then write almost 2000 spontaneously within an hour. I don’t really know what it is, but He’s probably got something to do with it… or everything to do with it.

*** I have made a very obvious and foolish mistake in my reply to this question. This includes my revision of that mistake in my reply to [1].***
Anon asked: How would you answer somebody who argues that Christians select segments of the Bible (Jesus as God, Jesus and the moneylenders, Judas’ betrayal etc. which are not historically recorded in any document but the Bible) and claim them...

dangerful asked:
You do realize as a Catholic, you should be advocating the murder of disobedient children? It’s in the ten commandments; Jesus even chastises the Pharisees for NOT killing their children. KJV Matthew 15: “But [Jesus] answered and said unto them, ‘Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? For God commanded, saying, `Honor thy father and mother,’...

Hi, my name is Niko. I’m Catholic. I’m 18, and I go to St. John’s University. I like reading and writing poetry. From 9 years old to 9th grade, I swung violently between practically-atheist to lukewarm faith. When my mom had me join my Church’s youth group and I started meeting…

str4wb3rry answered your question: I have a general question for all my followers:
Know who he is and pretty familiar with him. =) Why? Has someone not heard of him? Cuz that’s a little sad…
I was just asking because I’m a little rusty on his metaphysics stuff, and I was writing something using it, so I wanted to see if anyone could check it to see if I was making sense :)

I have a general question for all my followers:
How familiar are you with Aristotle? Have you read any of his philosophy? Studied it in detail (metaphysics in particular)? Never heard of him?

Anon: “What exactly makes these “human non-persons” not persons?” They don’t have souls. According to the Book of Genesis, a human is only ensouled when they take their first breath of air — OUTSIDE the womb.
Reply: Do you have a specific reference? If you’re talking about God breathing the breath of life into them, that’s a metaphor for the soul. It has...

Answering some questions from my last post.
phoenixdownn asked you:
A fetus is not a human for the following reason: to be human you have to be a human being and to be a being you have to be in a concious sense of indepandant awareness (ie, not a paracite, ie. not a fetus.) A fetus has to potential to become a human being after the process of which it it carried in the womb, kind of like how a...

This is a(n ongoing) discussion between “Bebinn” and myself.
Okay, so here is where our discussion has gone to so far (correct me if I’m wrong):
Me: Do you believe that all people have a right to life?
Bebinn: Yes.
Me: Then does it follow that other people have a kind of moral obligation to respect and uphold that right to life? (I’m working from Kant’s categorical...

Anonymous asked: How would you answer somebody who argues that Christians select segments of the Bible (Jesus as God, Jesus and the moneylenders, Judas' betrayal etc. which are not historically recorded in any document but the Bible) and claim them to be true whilst saying that other sections (Thou shalt not eat figs/seafood, God 'hates' gays, Millions of deaths caused by holy plague/flood etc.) are...

I hate having no friends to rely on, to actually be there…
